Sponsorship through Compassion International has become very important to my family and I. I’d like to introduce you to our Compassion family.
Wannaporn is from Thailand. She was born on the very same day as my daughter Rachel. She is 11 years old. We have sponsored her since February 2012. In the five years that we’ve gotten to know her she has grown so much. She sends us wonderful letters filled with her favorite things. She says she loves to sing.
Anghela is 17 years old and lives in Peru. I have been her sponsor since June 2016. She is studying techinal nursing and tells me about how much she’s learning in her letters. We are very proud of her accomplishments.
This is Lightnes and she is 6. I met her during a home visit while in Tanzania in 2014. I gave her a doll that my mother had made. Little did I know that God would bring her back into my life 3 years later. On March 20, 2017 she became our 3rd sponsored child…almost 3 years to the day after I had spent time in her home and with her family
This is Rosette from Uganda. Rosette became our 1st Correspondent child in March 2013. Rosette is financially sponsored, but needed someone to commit to writing her and encouraging her. I was so happy to fill this role in her life. Rosette is 11. She likes to play hide and seek and sing songs.
Kevin from Bolivia became our 2nd correspondent child in April 2013. Kevin is 17 and recently graduated. He wants to be an engineer. I have enjoyed getting to know this special young man over the past years.
Salisa joined our Compassion family as a correspondent child on May 1, 2013. She writes beautiful letters and always requests prayer for her aging grandmother. Nit is 17 and is from Thailand.
Godfrey also joined the group on May 1, 2013. He is 12 years old and lives in Uganda. On July 5, 2014 we received the heartbreaking news that his mother had passed away in April. Having already lost his father to death, Godfrey is now an orphan and will be living with his grandfather. We will do everything we can to encourage him and use our words to tell him how much he is loved.
Olivier became our 5th correspondent child on June 19, 2013. He is 9 years old and is from Haiti.
Fikhi joined our family in May 2014. He is 14 and lives in Indonesia. He excels in school.
Yeisy lives in the Dominican Republic and is 10 years old. He also join us in May 2014.
Lutfi is also from Indonesia and she is a smiling 15 year old. She calls me Mama in her letters and is always a joy.
Mwema is our 16 year old Kenyan. He also is doing well in his education. He joined our correspondent family in January 2015.
Flor also joined us in January 2015. She is a 14 year old from the Dominican Republic.
In January 2016 we connected with Nahom, and 8 year old from Ethiopia
Most recently we added Juan to our Compassion family. He is a 12 year old from El Salvador and I look forward to getting to know him more.
This is Mwajuma from Tanzania. This is the little girl who started it all. We began sponsoring her in February 2008. I had the great joy of traveling to Tanzania to meet Mwajuma in March 2014. In addition to being an unforgettable day it helped to confirm that child sponsorship is a worthwhile calling that truly makes a difference in the world. Mwajuma left the program in 2016. I am truly blessed to have had her as a part of my life.
Fifteen precious children (plus more than have moved in and out of our circle). Their ages span a decade and their homes span the globe. Our family considers is a great honor and privilege that God has seen fit to connect them with us. We don’t know for how long, but we are committed to praying for them and their families and encouraging them for as long as He sees fit.
